The most important factor for me when I was looking for senior home care for my mother was that they had 24-hour care. Not stand-by, not access to professionals who come in four times a week, but supervision and assistance that would be available immediately if something was to happen. Sad as it may be, my mom’s body is not as strong as it used to be and a slip that I would bounce back from could lead to her deathbed if not attended immediately. We need to start taking good care of our elderly, as we would not be where we are if it wasn’t for the care they gave us. My mom never took the night off when I was ill, she sat by me and I want the same for her. Even if it is just someone to help ease the loneliness. These things can eat away at the soul and body if they aren’t attended to. As much as I would like to help my mom I just can’t.
